Fantasy Sports now Legal in Kansas
With massive support from the constituents and government officials, the Kansas state senate passed Bill HB 2155 by a vote of 37 to 1. This bill aims to legalize fantasy sports gaming.
It also allows for other legislature in similar areas as charitable gaming, bingo, raffles and lotteries. Kansas Governor Sam Brownback signed the bill on May 19, 2015.
This makes Kansas among one of the few states with laws like this currently in place, and the first since Maryland passed a similar law in 2012. There are several other states with similar bills currently in discussion to be put into place, with Pennsylvania being the latest to discuss such a bill.
This bill was very much supported by both the public support and support from most of the government officials. The fantasy sports gaming community is excited for this move, and hopes that the similar legislation in other states is passed and is as welcomed by other states as well.
